Jim Milio has written, produced, and/or directed more than 500 hours of content, including globally successful feature films, award-winning documentaries, reality and non-fiction television series, mini-series, and specials.

In film, Milio wrote and directed Men Seeking Women, a comedy starring Will Ferrell, produced The Other Side of Hell a feature for NBC starring Alan Arkin, It Came from Hollywood, a feature for Paramount Pictures starring Dan Ackroyd, Hearts of Fire a feature for CBS, and he is the co-executive producer of the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time, My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

In television, Milio wrote, directed, and produced nine seasons of the three-time Emmy-nominated television series Dog Whisperer for National Geographic, which sold in over 180 countries globally. He co-wrote, directed, and produced during seven seasons of the CBS hit series Rescue911 starring William Shatner. Milio also produced the Emmy-nominated ABC special mini-series Great Moments in Disney Animation, The Discovery Eco-Challenge Australia mini-series for the Discovery Channel, the mini-series Founding Fathers for A&E, the mini-series The History of Sex for the History Channel, and Roswell: Startling New Evidence for the SyFy Channel.

Most recently, Milio produced the new next-generation Dog Whisperer-style series Dog Masters, which is currently in post-production, as well as the docu-reality series Operation Hidden Treasures, which recently aired its first season on the Discovery Channel.

Milio was the first co-chair of the Non-Fiction Committee of the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) and was also a member of the Non-Fiction Steering Committee of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) for two years.

Jim Milio recently wrote his first book, Jim’s Hollywood Finity Stones, a practical guidebook on how to succeed in Hollywood.
Milio has won three People’s Choice Awards (Dog Whisperer, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Rescue 911) and has been nominated for several Emmy Awards and Writer’s Guild Awards.​

Today, Milio also teaches at UCLA "The Business of Entertainment" and "Producing and Directing Reality and Documentary Television.”
